Judge Popovich Receives Prestigious Award
District Court Judge John E. Popovich has received the 2007 American Board of Trial Advocates, Colorado Chapter Judicial Excellence Award for excellence in Judicial Administration. He will be presented the award at a banquet in October, 2007. Congratulations Judge Popovich for your well deserved recognition.
Executive Director Information
Stacey Moore is the Executive Director for the Adams/Broomfield Bar Association. Ms. Moore was formerly a Deputy District Attorney in the Seventeenth Judicial District and in the private practice of law.

Casemaker Online Law Library is now available to all ABBA members free of charge. Casemaker is a comprehensive law library for both state and federal materials.
Adams County Justice Center Child Care Voucher Program
Any party, juror, witness or victim that is responsible for the care of a child under twelve (12) years of age is eligible for voucher assistance to pay for child care. To participate in the program the party must make arrangements in advance with an approved day care provider. When the participant leaves his or her child or children at the day care provider, he or she will be provided with a voucher form. The voucher will pay for day care for the time that the participant is at court, and no other day care expense will be paid. The provider will forward the completed voucher to the court and payment will be made directly by the District Administrator to the day care provider. The Adams/Broomfield Bar Association offers a bi-monthly Pro Se Divorce Clinic. This is a free program for persons representing themselves in non-contested dissolution of marriage proceedings. Attorney volunteers provide an overview of dissolution of marriage law and procedures in Colorado. Participants may ask questions on how to fill out and file their own paperwork. Participants should purchase the forms for Dissolution of Marriage or Legal Separation actions from the Clerk's Office on the first floor of the Adams County Justice Center, 1100 Judicial Center Drive, Brighton, Colorado or online at www.courts.state.co.us at the Self-Help Center. The next Pro Se Divorce Clinic will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2007 from 4:30 o'clock p.m. until 6:00 o'clock p.m. at the Adams County Justice Center, Jury Room, First Floor, 1100 Judicial Center Drive, Brighton, Colorado.
Request for Information to Update Private Attorney Data Base
The data base utilized for the Private Attorney locator on the Seventeenth Judicial District web site has become dated. Please go to the Resource Center, enter an area of law which your practice involves and review the information for you or your firm. The forms provided below can be used to furnish your updated information or to add your name to the data base. Please mail or deliver the completed form to Judge Chris Melonakis, 1100 Judicial Center Drive, Brighton, Colorado 80601. Once the information is received, it should be updated within twenty-four hours of receipt. Each of the forms is interactive. The form can be obtained in Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Word format by clicking the appropriate link below:

The Adams/Broomfield Bar Association has an office available for attorney member use at the Adams County Justice Center, 1100 Judicial Center Drive, Brighton, Colorado. The office is located next to the Law Library on the first floor of the Justice Center. An identifying plaque of the Adams/Broomfield Bar Association is next to the office entry. The office has a telephone, desk and copier available for members' use. A message board with copies of CLE flyers and upon which the ABBA Newsletter is posted is also available. Members may leave messages, announcements, or information of interest for other members. Additionally, members may make suggestions for services which ABBA may provide to its membership at the office.
